    Harish Kalyan and Attakathi Dinesh's latest cricket-based film Lubber Pandhu has been making huge waves at the box office. Directed by debutant filmmaker Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, the film opened to a massive reception and received positive responses from audiences.     According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Harish Kalyan-starrer opened to strong numbers, earning approximately Rs 75 lakh on Day 1. Thanks to its positive word-of-mouth, the film saw increased footfall in the following days and has now collected around Rs 2.92 crore worldwide. The film, which hit the big screens on September 20, 2024, clashed with Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi’s political thriller Kadaisi Ulaga Por, yet continues to maintain an edge over other releases and is becoming one of the fan-favorite films from Kollywood this year.

    For context, the film was made on a budget of Rs 10 crores and has already recovered around 30% of its budget.

    Based on street cricket, the film features Attakathi Dinesh as Gethu, a well-known street cricketer in his village, while Harish Kalyan plays Anbu, another talented cricketer admired by his friends. As per reports, Disney+ Hotstar has acquired the digital rights to the film, and it will be available for streaming after its theatrical run.
