Lockdown teaser: Anupama Parameswaran promises an intriguing tale on Covid-19 pandemic | Watch

The official teaser of the Anupama Parameswaran-starrer Lockdown is here! The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the official teaser. The makers who shared the teaser wrote, “The wait is over! Presenting the ‘LOCKDOWN’ teaser. Step into a tale of chaos and intrigue.” Along with the teaser, the makers also announced that the film will hit the big screens in June 2024, although the exact release date is yet to be disclosed.

The new glimpse features a distressed Anupama calling her father desperately, while news about the nationwide lockdown flashes on television. The protagonist is then seen roaming the streets, looking worried. A woman is seen shouting the name Anita, hinting at the protagonist's name. Anupama, who takes center stage, seems to be caught in a spot after the stringent lockdown was imposed in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.  

Overall, the new teaser has all the elements of a mystery thriller that will narrate the story against the backdrop of the deadly virus outbreak. Anupama’s screen presence in a gripping role has piqued the interest of viewers who are keen to witness the glamorous actress essay a different role in this thriller.

Anupama plays the lead role in this thriller

The movie also marks the actress' lead role in Kollywood after a long hiatus; the actress last played a supporting character in Jayam Ravi-starrer Siren. 

From the earlier released posters, fans noticed that Anupama’s character is seen crying out for help. With little to no makeup, the actress is all set to play a serious role, unlike her last film, Tillu Square, which saw her in a glamorous avatar. The intriguing posters evoked a lot of curiosity among fans, who cannot wait to watch the gripping thriller at the cinemas in June.

 Anupama Parameswaran, who is primarily known for her work in Tollywood, is gearing up to play the lead in this new Tamil film. This project is bankrolled by Lyca Productions and is directed by newbie AR Jeeva. The rest of the cast has not been revealed yet. On the technical front, NR Ragunathan and Siddharth Vipin are composing the music, and KA Sakthivel is handling the cinematography. The movie is both written and directed by AR Jeeva, with more details and updates expected to be released soon.
