Liger: Netizens are okay with Vijay Deverakonda, but trolls feel Ananya Panday is still ‘struggling’ with acting

Ananya Panday is one star kid who has faced trolls almost every day of her career, ever since she made her debut as an actor in Bollywood. May it be for her physical appearance, nepotism or the time she spoke about the struggles she has faced in her journey-- despite having millions of followers on social media, she has received a lot of negativity. Well, once again her name is trending on Twitter. This time, the posts are regarding her performance in the recently released pan-Indian film Liger .

The sports drama, which arrived in theatres on 25th August, received backlash for not meeting expectations. While netizens are still okay with lead star Vijay Deverakonda and his Bollywood debut, Liger is being trolled for its poor story-line, execution and Ananya’s performance. Trolls feel that she is still ‘struggling’ with acting. For instance, one tweet read: “Nepotism and all is fine, only if the individual performs. Time and again #AnanyaPandey ruins the movie and we keep backing her. One hit movie and she will be back gain, but she lacks talent. We should boycott her for life and let her struggle.”

Meanwhile, another post stated, “Watched movie liger and I feel Ananya pandey is still struggling in life.. Highly disappointed #AnanyaPandey.” Some are even saying that girls who make Instagram reels can act better than Ananya, while joking about her expressions in one particular scene which has gone viral on the internet. In this clip, Vijay confesses his feelings while the actress wipes away a tear. Ahead of its release, Liger had already fallen prey to the boycott trend when Vijay came out in support of Aamir Khan and Laal Singh Chaddha, which tanked because several members of the audience refused to watch it.
