Latest Coolie update is here, plus details about an actress who has joined Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj film

It's official! The shooting for superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s eagerly awaited film Coolie has begun. The makers of the film took to their official social media handles to make the exciting announcement. They wrote, “Superstar-Loki Sambhavam begins! #Coolie shooting starts today.”

Earlier, Rajinikanth was spotted in Hyderabad, where he joined the team of Coolie. He was received at the airport by his close friend and popular Telugu actor Mohan Babu. A video of Rajinikanth being escorted to a car by Mohan Babu went viral on the internet.

Shruti Haasan joins the sets of Coolie

Earlier, it was reported that actress Shruti Haasan has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the upcoming gangster action thriller. The speculations were confirmed by the actress herself, who took to her social media pages to confirm that she indeed is a part of Coolie. Shruti Haasan posted “Day 1 Coolie" on her Instagram story.

So far, only Satyaraj and Shruti Haasan have been confirmed as part of Coolie, apart from Rajinikanth. The makers are yet to disclose the other important actors who are a part of the project. Actors like Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Ranveer Singh, Nagarjuna, and Mic Mohan are also rumored to be part of the cast.

Coolie to have worthy female roles

Following criticism for not creating memorable female characters, director Lokesh Kanagaraj emphasized that Coolie would have memorable female roles, unlike his other films. The LCU director revealed that his upcoming film with Rajinikanth will have "good scope and greater importance for female characters."

Coolie OTT partner

As per reports, the digital rights of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film Coolie have been acquired by Amazon Prime for a massive amount. The satellite rights have been sold to Sun Television. The hype around this movie is already so great that many fans are already calling it a blockbuster.

The music for the upcoming film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the camera is cranked by cinematographer Girish Gangadharan.
