L2 Empuraan - A surprise awaits us on Mohanlal's birthday? Here’s the latest update about the Lucifer sequel

Mohanlal’s upcoming action thriller L2 Empuraan is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly-awaited Malayalam releases of the year. Although the film is currently in the protection stage, the latest update about director Prithviraj Sukumaran's film is that the first-look poster of Mohanlal from the movie will be released on his 64th birthday (May 21). 

According to the latest reports, the makers are set to let us in on the dashing first-look poster of Mohanlal as Khureshi Ab'raam on the actor’s birthday on May 21. However, an official confirmation about this is awaited. 

L2 Empuraan's important schedules revealed

A major portion of the shoot for L2 Empuraan is still pending. And a new schedule is set to begin soon. According to sources, the makers will be flying to Gujarat to kick off the new schedule, which they are planning to wrap up quickly. Following this, the team will begin its other schedules in Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Kochi and Vandiperiyar, presumably in the months of June or July. 

Notably, Mohanlal has also allotted dates for his 360th film, which is tentatively titled L360 and will be directed by Tharun Moorthy. Lalettan will begin shooting for L360 before joining the Kerala schedule for L2 Empuraan.

Empuraan has a brilliant script: Mohanlal

During a media interaction, Mohanlal opened up about the much-awaited action thriller. The Neru actor, who is eagerly awaiting the release of the Lucifer sequel, revealed that the film has a "brilliant" script. The superstar mentioned that the project, written by actor-writer Murali Gopy, is a grand production. The movie is jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions; it marks Lyca Productions' debut in the Malayalam film industry. 

Touted to be a three-part film, L2 Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film, Lucifer, will be released in several languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Sujith Vaassudev returns as the cinematographer, while composer Deepak Dev scores the music for the action thriller.
