Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor starrer rom com shelved due to latter’s hiked fee? Here’s what we know

Just last month it was reported that Shahid Kapoor will be joining forces with the very talented and beautiful Kriti Sanon for the first time ever in Dinesh Vijan's next. While he is known for acing romance on-screen with heroines in his films, this time his love story will be with a machine. That’s right! The romantic comedy is reportedly a quirky story where a man falls for a robot, which will be played by Kriti. Well, fans were quite excited for this one-of-a-kind film, but buzz now suggests that it has been put on the back-burner.

A report shared by Jagran revealed one reason behind this is that makers realized they were going over budget. Post Jersey, it was being said that Shahid had hiked his fee by a large sum. Well, he apparently asked for a high remuneration for this project as well, which reportedly drove up the expenditures of the producers. On top of this, he was unhappy with some bits of the screenplay including the climax and requested modifications. As a result, the film has been shelved for now because these changes will take time, but the production will hopefully begin next year.

Meanwhile, Shahid is busy shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar's action film Bloody Daddy and also has Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K.’s crime drama series Farzi in his kitty, which marks his debut on the digital platform. Kriti, on the other hand, has an envious line up with films like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi remake Shehzada opposite Kartik Aaryan, monster comedy Bhediya with Varun Dhawan, Om Raut’s Adipurush co-starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan, and Ganapath, which reunites her with Tiger Shroff. She has reportedly also signed an Anurag Kashyap film.

Well, we hope things work out and we get to see Kriti and Shahid together soon in this quirky romantic comedy.
