Kondal Trailer OUT: Gritty young man Antony Varghese Pepe promises an intriguing and engaging action flick

The makers of Antony Varghese Pepe’s upcoming film released the trailer of Kondal. As announced earlier, the Malayalam actor is all set to reunite with the makers of RDX. The film is directed by debutant Ajit Mampally and produced by Sophia Paul's home banner, Weekend Blockbusters, which backed Antony's superhit film RDX, as well as other successful films like Bangalore Days and Minnal Murali. The glimpse begins by introducing Antony's character, who plays a coastal man with a mysterious nature. As everyone around him suspects his motives, the trailer takes us into the world of Kondal, where he portrays a gritty and violent young man feared by the coastal people. On the other end, his wife despises his actions and pleads with him to change his ways, but he ignores her. The trailer then cuts to a boat sequence, where Antony, along with other characters, is in the midst of the sea. From fight sequences to betrayal, all amidst the roaring sea waves, the trailer promises an intriguing action thriller. In the end, we get a glimpse of Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty, who plays the primary antagonist in the film.

About Kondal

Directed by Ajit Mampally, the film is co-written by Ajit, Roylin Robert, and Satheesh Thonakkal. Alongside Antony Varghese, Kondal features a diverse cast that includes Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Jaya Kurup, Sarath Sabha, Siraj, and Rahul Rajagopal in pivotal roles. Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty has been roped in to play an antagonist once again in this revenge drama, after his maiden Malayalam film Turbo opposite Mammootty.

On the technical front, the film boasts RDX composer Sam CS, cinematographer Jithin Stanislaus, and editor Sreejith Sarang. Kondal is slated for a theatrical release during Onam 2024, on September 13, 2024. Interestingly, RDX was also an Onam release in 2023 and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in Mollywood last year.
