    Antony Varghese in Kondal

After a decent Onam outing, Malayalam actor Antony Varghese Pepe's latest sea action thriller is all set for its digital debut. Directed by Ajit Mampally, the film stars Antony Varghese Pepe and Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty in key roles. Upon its release, the film faced competition from Tovino Thomas' period drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Asif Ali's mythological thriller Mishkintha Kandam, which were the audience's first choices, resulting in Kondal's average box office performance. After a theatrical run of less than a month, here’s when and where you can stream Kondal on OTT.

Kondal's OTT rights have been acquired by Netflix, and it will be available for streaming on the platform starting October 13, 2024. Although the makers have not made an official announcement regarding the OTT release, the film is ready to stream from tonight onwards.

    What is Kondal about?

The Antony Varghese Pepe-starrer revolves around his character, Manuel, who works on a fishing boat. However, when a tragedy strikes, leading to divisions among the crew members, violence erupts. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

    Kondal Trailer

The trailer showcases intense fight sequences and plotlines of betrayal, all set against the backdrop of roaring sea waves, with Kannada actor Raj B. Shetty playing the primary antagonist.

Upon its release, the film struggled to connect with audiences, who were more interested in Tovino Thomas' period drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam and Asif Ali's Mishkintha Kandam, both of which outperformed Kondal. However, with the OTT release, the movie is expected to reach a wider audience.

Directed by Ajit Mampally, the film is co-written by Ajit, Roylin Robert, and Satheesh Thonakkal. Alongside Antony Varghese Pepe, Kondal features an ensemble cast that includes Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Jaya Kurup, Sarath Sabha, Siraj, and Rahul Rajagopal in pivotal roles. The film marks Raj B. Shetty's debut in Malayalam cinema after Turbo opposite Mammootty.
