Kishkindha Kaandam box office collection day 6: Asif Ali-starrer is on an impressive run, earns THIS much

This Onam, Malayali audiences were offered a variety of films to choose from. From period dramas to mystery thrillers, it was a great festive season to enjoy at the theatres. Asif Ali’s latest film, Kishkindha Kaandam, which opened to overwhelming responses from the audience, continues to perform well at the box office. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, this mystery thriller stars Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, and Vijayaraghavan in the lead roles. Here’s how much the film earned on day 6:

Asif Ali’s Kishkindha Kaandam box office collection

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Asif Ali-starrer opened to decent numbers, collecting approximately Rs 45 lakh on its opening day. However, with positive word-of-mouth, the film drew larger crowds to the theatres, leading to increased box office collection. By day 6, the film has collected Rs 13.5 crore globally, with Rs 9.32 crore at the domestic box office. The film also saw an overall Malayalam occupancy rate of 39.12% on day 6. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 5 crore, the film has already turned out to be this year’s Onam superhit.

Kishkindha Kaandam’s audience reception

Upon its release, viewers praised the filmmakers for crafting an engaging mystery drama. Many viewers called Kishkindha Kaandam one of the biggest surprises of the year. They found the film hard to categorize by genre but described it as a solid mystery with a touching father-son dynamic, highlighting the brilliant performances by Asif Ali and Vijayaraghavan.

Cine-goers also noted that Kishkindha Kaandam was a thought-provoking mystery drama, calling it a rare gem in Malayalam cinema that blends cleverness, suspense, and emotion, with standout performances from the lead actors.

Interestingly, popular composer Sushin Shyam was initially hired to compose the film's background score but later exited the project. Mujeeb Majeed stepped in and delivered a thrilling score that enhanced the overall theatrical experience for viewers.
