Kishkindha Kaandam Box Office Collection Day 11: Asif Ali starrer's rampage continues as it inches closer to Rs 25 crore in India

Asif Ali and Vijayraghavan’s latest mystery thriller, Kishkindha Kaandam, has turned out to be the sleeper hit Malayalam cinema lovers witnessed this Onam season. Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, this mystery thriller stars Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, and Vijayaraghavan in the lead roles. As the Onam holidays near its end, here’s how much the film has earned so far:

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film posted decent numbers, collecting approximately Rs 45 lakh on its opening day. But with positive word-of-mouth, the film gained momentum and slowly began picking up in the later days, now having collected approximately Rs 20.73 crore in India. On day 10, the film earned around Rs 3.93 crore. The worldwide collections of the film currently stand at Rs 38.50 crore and might be higher as you read this! The film has turned out to be a surprise hit this Onam season and is currently competing on par with Tovino Thomas’s period action drama, which has collected approximately Rs 63 crore globally.

Kishkindha Kaandam OTT deal

As per sources, the post-theatrical OTT and satellite telecast rights for Dinjith Ayyathan’s directorial have been sold for Rs 12 crore, which is double the film's budget. Reports also indicate that Disney+ Hotstar has joined as the streaming partner for the film.

Kishkindha Kaandam’s journey to becoming a sleeper hit

Kishkindha Kaandam initially faced competition from Tovino Thomas' Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which had a stronger opening day. However, the Asif Ali-starrer quickly gained overwhelming praise, with viewers commending the filmmakers for creating a captivating mystery drama. Many called Kishkindha Kaandam one of the year's biggest surprises, noting that Asif Ali’s recent screenplay selections have allowed him to showcase his versatility as an actor. Asif Ali and Vijayaraghavan's performances were particularly highlighted.

Interestingly, popular composer Sushin Shyam was originally set to compose the background score but later left the project. Mujeeb Majeed stepped in and delivered a thrilling score that greatly enhanced the audience's overall cinematic experience.

In addition to the lead cast, the film features Gibin Gopinath, Ashokan, Nishan, Vyshnavi Raj, Major Ravi, Nizhalkal Ravi, Shebin Benson, Kottayam Ramesh, Bilas Chandrahasan, Master Aarav, and Jagadish, among others.
