It was earlier reported that Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan will be teaming up soon for a rom-com. Well, the wait is finally over as the project is indeed happening and the title of the film is revealed to be Naadaniyaan. The film will be bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
However, the film will skip the theatrical release and will opt for direct OTT streaming. Khushi and Ibrahim are both one of the most sought-after gen-z actors and this fresh pairing will surely increase the excitement surrounding the movie. The shooting of the same has also begun in full swing. A few days earlier, a video had gone viral of Ibrahim and Khushi enjoying an ice cream together on the sets of Naadaniyaan. However, the same looked like a scene that they were shooting for in Delhi’s Sunder Nursery. Take a look at the same.
According to a news report in Pinkvilla, the makers of the movie are in a discussion stage with prominent OTT platforms for the streaming rights. The film is being directed by Shauna Gautam. For the unversed, Shauna was an assistant director on the sets of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ibrahim. She was also an AD on the sets of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer blockbuster film Sanju.
The source informed the publication, “It’s one of those romantic comedies that Hindi Cinema is known for. However, Karan and co. feel that the palette of narrative fits better for the OTT than the big screen. It’s planned and will be executed as an OTT original.” Khushi made her acting debut recently with the Zoya Akhtar directorial The Archies. She was seen playing Betty Cooper alongside Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan. Ibrahim will also be seen in the film Sarzameen which is also backed by Dharma Productions. The film also stars Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
