Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick: Chapter 4 crosses 300 million at the box office
Chapter 4 is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing movie in the franchise.
The fourth installment in the John Wick franchise is still going strong at the box office, the movie has grossed over 300 million dollars worldwide.
The movie collected 137.5 million on its opening weekend thus giving the fourth chapter the best opening in the franchise and the best opening weekend for any R-rated movie since the pandemic.
The movie has received praise from critics and fans and currently holds an impressive and rare 94% from both critics and audiences.
In the movie will see John realizes that the only way to defeat the High Table is from within and decide to challenge The Marquis de Gramont of the High Table in a one-on-one fight to the death for his freedom.
He is assisted on his mission by the Bowery King, who survives his assassination attempt by the High Table and now wants revenge.
John Wick 4 is directed by Chad Stahelski and the screenplay is written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch, Hateen had also worked on the script of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
While John Wick won't be returning to the big screen, there are currently two spinoffs in development, the first is the limited series titled The Continental which focuses on a young Winston and Charon.
The Continental will consist of three 90-minute episodes and will premier on Paramount+ this September.
The other project Ballerina which is currently in post-production is set between the events of John Wick Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 and focuses on Rooney, who is out of revenge against the people who murdered her family.
Rooney made her debut in the third chapter of John Wick, then played by professional American ballerina Unity Phelan.
The main cast of the movie includes Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
The movie will feature cameos from Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick as John Wick, Winston Scott, and Charon respectively.
Ballerina is directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay by Shay Hatten and Emerald Fennell and will hit theaters worldwide on June 7, 2024.
