Kartik Aaryan bags Anurag Basu’s Aashiqui 3; promises this one will be ‘heart-wrenching’

Kartik Aaryan has had a splendid year so far! He emerged to be janta ka superstar with his last released film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which managed to do something not many remakes are capable of-- it performed even better than the original horror comedy which featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. Well, the actor has now bagged yet another sequel to a hit franchise! He will be joining hands with ace filmmaker Anurag Basu for the first time ever for Aashiqui 3 .

Sharing an announcement teaser of the same on his official social media handle, Kartik wrote: “Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum, Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum 🎶 #Aashiqui3 ❤️This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da 🤗.” Sharing his excitement in an interview with Variety, Kartik said, “The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity.”

Kartik further shared that he has been a fan of Basu’s work and believes that collaborating with him will shape him as an actor in many ways. While the original 1990 film featured Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, Aashiqui 2 starred Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead opposite Shraddha Kapoor. We can’t wait to see the new Aashiqui girl who will share the screen with Kartik in the upcoming musical romantic drama.

Currently Kartik is busy shooting for his next love saga titled Satyaprem Ki Katha alongside Kiara Advani. He also has Shehzada, the Hindi remake of Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, along with Freddy in his kitty. We wish him the best!
