Karan Johar doubts Tiger Shroff's ability to pull off Rs.150 crore actioner? Screw Dheela put on on hold after mega announcement
Tiger Shroff led Dharma Productions actioner Screw Dheela which was announced last month has now been put on hold.
With Bollywood going through a rough patch at the box office, producers are extra careful about where they invest their money. Looks like the losses of several hundred crores has now put the strain on even mega producers like Karan Johar to pull the breaks on hefty investments and the film that is in trouble happens to be Tiger Shroff led Screw Dheela .
The recently announced film which has Tiger pulling off some impressive stuns in the teaser, has allegedly been put on hold by Dharma Productions owing to budgetary issues. The project was to be helmed by Shashank Khaitan but in current environment the makers have reconsidered their stand on the film after the teaser of the movie failed to make a mark with the audience.
While Screw Dheela isn’t the only project to have been put on hold by Dharma recently, it certainly is a big blow for action star Tiger Shroff. According to Bollywood Hungama, the budget for the actioner entertainer is coming up to Rs. 150 crores and after the failure of Heropanti 2 this year, the makers aren’t sure if Tiger can pull of the film of this scale at the box office. Other reasons for holding off the project include the dismal state of affairs at the box office in general at the moment and also the lukewarm response the teaser has gotten.
Recently Dharma has put projects like Bedhadak, Takht, Dostana 2 on hold as well apart from Tiger’s film. Screw Dheela isn’t the only Tiger Shroff project that has been re-examined by makers after the failure of Heropanti 2 either. Earlier reports were abuzz about his action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Akshay Kumar also being put on hold as makers were reconsidering the massive budget of the film due to both the actors’ recent failure at the box office.
However, Screw Dheela hasn’t been shelved. According to reports, the film will be revisited by the makers when the environment is more conducive.
