Filmmaker and actor of the latest pan-Indian hit Kantara, Rishab Shetty talks about the pressure to do bigger and better with his next project. Reveals what his plans are.
Kantara is the latest Indian film that has the audience and filmmakers from all corners in awe. The film directed by Rishab Shetty is currently enjoying an excellent run of its Hindi version which was released two weeks after the release of the Kannada original.
While Kantara is going from strength to strength at the box office and inching towards the 200 crore mark at the global box office, filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty answered how he plans to manage the expectations that are suddenly all to high. He revealed how he will deal with the demands of a sequel and expectations that it be much bigger in terms of both budget and box office.
A humble Rishab, however, was happy to tell that his immediate plans after Kantara promotions involve going off the radar for two months and spending time with his family. The filmmaker says that he has made no plans for the sequel and neither does he plan to think about it for the next two months as he spends time with his family.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rishab said, “What’s next bolein toh, main rest bolta hoon logon ko. 2 mahine ki chutti leke bhag jaa raha hoon ghar, meri biwi bacchon ke saath. Kuch sochta nahi bohot zayada main, 2 mahine. Ek samay aata hai, ye realise kiya ki ye success ke liye itne saal main kaam nahi kiya hoon, mujhe kaam karna tha, kaam kiya main. Successful toh film ho raha hai, mera kuch nahi hai ussmein. Mere team ke ek ek bande ka bhi contribution hai. So main kaise claim karun ye sab. Itne log, Hombale (Films) jaiesa production house, saare duniya main ek hi baar leke aake ye present kiya hai, itna acche se promote kare film ko reach kiya hai. So mera claim kuch nahi hai ussmein, main kaam kiya hoon bas ho gaya hai. Abhi logon ka film hai, who leke jaa raha hai, I am thankful to people.”
Kantara has left industries across the country awestruck. The film is a hot topic of discussion on social media and is hoped to enjoy a long run in cinemas ahead.
