    Happy Birthday Sarathkumar! On the occasion of the veteran actor’s birthday, the makers of Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming film Kannappa released the character poster of the actor from the film. Sarathkumar will be playing the role of ‘Nathanadhudu’ in the movie, and the new poster showcases the actor dressed as a tribal warrior, wielding two swords in either hand and appearing to scream at the top of his voice. The powerful and intriguing poster suggests that the actor will be essaying an interesting character alongside Vishnu Manchu.

    Earlier, the makers had unveiled an interesting teaser from the film, which revealed the mighty characters from the tale of Kannappa. The teaser showcased glimpses of the mythical story that narrates the tale of an archer who one day stumbles upon the hidden shrine of a Shiva Linga and becomes its devotee. The teaser also features a war for a Vayulinga, a representation of Lord Shiva. One tribe wages war on another to gain control of the Vayulinga but ends up being impressed by the fighting skills of Kannappa, played by Vishnu Manchu. However, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, and Telugu superstar Prabhas all seem to be playing the avatars of Lord Shiva.

    Helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts an ensemble star cast that includes Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Preity Mukundhan, and Kajal Aggarwal. Kannappa will not only be a pan-Indian film released in several Indian languages but will also be released in English. Vishnu Manchu has also penned the screenplay for the film. The film is produced by Mohan Babu under the banners 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. On the technical front, the film consists of cinematography by Sheldon Chau and editing handled by Anthony Gonsalvez. Stephen Devassy has composed the music for the film.
