Kanguva plot REVEALED: Suriya to play a tribal warrior and a cop? Everything you need to know about the fantasy drama

Tamil star Suriya’s upcoming fantasy action flick Kanguva is gearing up for its much-awaited Children’s Day release, on November 14, 2024. Directed by Siva, the film marks the actor’s return to full-fledged lead roles after two years. However, ahead of its grand release, a screengrab of its synopsis has been widely circulating on social media.

Kanguva synopsis

According to the synopsis, Kanguva tells the story of a brave police officer on a mission to fight crime, who discovers a hidden link to an old betrayal. The film promises exciting action, emotional moments, and a mystery that connects events from the past to the present. The leaked synopsis reads: “Epic Saga of Kanguva where ancient valor meets modern-day courage. A tribal warrior's fierce struggle to save his people a millennium ago is mysteriously linked to a shadow cop's perilous quest in the present. This gripping emotional tale of heroism across time promises heart-pounding action and a mystery that defies the ages.”

Interestingly, the leaked screengrab also mentions the runtime of the movie, which is set at 2 hours and 35 minutes. However, the film is yet to be sent for censor formalities, hence the official runtime is yet to be disclosed.

Kanguva cast and crew

Directed by Siva, the pan-India Tamil film Kanguva stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and K. S. Ravikumar in key roles. On the technical front, the original background score and soundtracks have been composed by National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad. Vetri Palanisamy has served as the cinematographer, while Nishadh Yusuf has handled the editing.

Kanguva is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 14, 2024, this Children’s Day, and will clash with the Varun Tej-starrer Telugu period film Matka at the box office. As previously announced, the post-theatrical rights of Kanguva have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
