Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's latest movie Indian 2 made its streaming debut on Netflix on Friday. Kamal shot a new promo for the movie's digital release, showcasing his linguistic versatility. He announced the streaming debut of Indian 2 in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam, except Hindi.

Well, Kamal is well-versed in Hindi, and he wouldn't have had any problem speaking the language in the promo. However, only it isn't available for streaming yet. The digital release of the Hindi dubbed version of Indian 2 has been delayed for reasons unknown.

Typically, all Hindi movies are expected to stay out of the streaming platforms for eight weeks. As a matter of fact, it's a non-negotiable clause for a Hindi movie to secure wide distribution support across North Indian states. Maybe, this rule may have something to do with the delay in the streaming release of the Indian 2 Hindi version.

Indian 2, which is a sequal to the 1996 classic Indian, is written and directed by Shankar. The film was released amid a lot of hype on July 12. However, it opened to unanimously negative reviews from critics. Word of mouth among audiences was also disastrous. However, thanks to Kamal's stardom, and the strong recall value of the franchise, the film managed to put up a decent performance during the opening weekend, despite an overwhelmingly negative response.

The footfalls for Indian 2 across the country took a sharp plunge post its opening weekend, becoming one of the biggest commercial flops in the history of Tamil cinema. However, the filmmakers have high hopes for Indian 3, which is already in post-production, to help the producers make the box office profits that Indian 2 failed to achieve.

Nearly three decades later, Indian Thatha is called back to India by a nationwide social media campaign powered by youngsters, who are vexed with the growing rate of corruption in the country. However, in the last few decades, the country has drastically changed, leaving Indians Thatha clueless as to how to unite people against the menace of corruption.
