It would be an understatement to say that Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's upcoming movie Thug Life is one of the most-awaited films in Tamil cinema. The film marks the reunion of director Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan after a gap of more than 35 years. The supporting cast also features a mix of A-list stars and seasoned actors.

The cast of Thug Life just got bigger with two new additions. The filmmakers officially confirmed on Tuesday that Nasser and Abhirami are part of the movie. Abhirami reacted to the announcement with joy and gratitude. "Never stop dreaming... 'Coz they will come true!" she tweeted.

Thug Life marks Abhirami's second onscreen collaboration with Kamal Haasan after the cult classic Virumandi (2004). Exactly 20 years later, Abhirami is said to be playing the role of Kamal's wife under Mani Ratnam's direction.

It's worth noting that Abhirami and Kamal Haasan's chemistry made their performance in Virumandi one of the evergreen romantic stories in Tamil cinema, even though their love story ends on a sudden, violent, and tragic note.

Annalakshmi remains one of the beloved characters of Tamil cinema and a milestone in Abhirami's career.

Nasser has worked with both Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam on many movies. With him coming on board, it completes the circle of Nayakan. Nasser played a key role in the movie, marking the poetic end to the reign of Kamal's Sakthivel "Velu" Naicker, a gangster with a kind and generous heart.

Thug Life also stars Simbu in a lead role, seemingly playing the son of Kamal Haasan's character. The filmmakers have revealed a lot about Kamal's Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar, but it's hard to make anything out of it.

Kamal Haasan has already started dubbing for Thug Life. The film is expected to hit the screens later this year.
