Kalki 2898 AD out on OTT: Here’s where you can stream Prabhas’ sci-fi action spectacle

    After a long wait, cinephiles can finally stream Prabhas’ magnum opus sci-fi action-drama Kalki 2898 AD on OTT. As announced earlier, the film has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. The official handle of Amazon Prime shared the announcement poster and wrote, “The battle of the future begins NOW. #Kalki2898ADOnPrime, Watch Now: bit.ly/Kalki2898ADonP… Available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.” 

    The film will be available for streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on Amazon Prime Video, while Netflix will be streaming the Hindi version.

    Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD, headlined by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, revolves around a dystopian era where the modern avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, Kalki, descends on Earth to fight evil forces. While Prabhas plays the dual roles of Bhairava and Karnan, Deepika Padukone essays the role of Sumati. Amitabh Bachchan portrays Ashwatthama, and Kamal Haasan plays the main antagonist, Supreme Yaskin.

    Besides the lead actors, the movie boasts a star-studded supporting cast, including Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Shobana, Saswata Chatterjee, and Brahmanandam, along with cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Malavika Nair. 

    Kalki 2898 AD is set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic era and is known to be the most expensive film made in Indian cinema. It collected over Rs 1,100 crore at the box office. With music composed by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, the film was produced under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner.

    Kalki 2898 AD sequel in the making

    As announced earlier, director Nag Ashwin has confirmed that a sequel to the sci-fi spectacle is already in the works. However, the director is currently gearing up for his next film, Project S, with AVM Studios, and hence the remaining production work on the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD will be pushed to a later date.
