Ahead of the grand release of Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi action drama Kalki 2898 AD, the makers took to social media to share an intriguing new character poster of Tamil actor Pasupathy. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan in important roles.
The actor, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is all set to essay the role of ‘Veeran’ in the Prabhas-starrer. The new character poster features the actor in an intense and poignant look, searching for a ‘better tomorrow’, as per the caption under the poster. The Tamil actor is said to play a crucial role in the film, as seen in the glimpses and trailer that were released earlier.
The film, which boasts an ensemble star cast from different Indian film industries, has Kamal Haasan and Pasupathy from Kollywood.
Kalki 2898 AD final war trailer
The makers of the film recently released the second and final war trailer, which is more detailed than the first. The new trailer introduces several new character arcs, focusing primarily on the central battle between Bhairava (played by Prabhas) and Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) to save Kalki that resides in Sumathi's (played by Deepika Padukone) womb.
The new trailer also gives a deeper glimpse into the battle of the Mahabharata while also showcasing the three universes of the story: the elite’s land of Complex, the last surviving city of Kasi, and Shambala, the land of refuge for the people persecuted by the elite.
Kalki 2898 AD impresses the Censor Board
The censor board recently cleared the upcoming Telugu science-fiction film Kalki 2898 AD for theatrical release with a U/A certificate.
Reports indicate that the Nag Ashwin directorial has impressed the members of the censor board. One report read, “Reliable sources from the censor screening of #Kalki2898AD say that the censor board members were amazed by the stunning visuals of the film and wholeheartedly appreciated the crew. They reported never-before-seen visual standards in Indian cinema.”
Besides Prabhas and Pasupathy, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Anna Ben and Disha Patani. Kalki 2898 AD is slated to hit cinemas on June 27, 2024.
