Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s latest visual spectacle, Kalki 2898 AD, has been soaring ever since its initial release. The sci-fi film, which was released on June 27, has successfully managed to rake in massive collections at the box office, with all language versions doing exceptionally well.
Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi dystopian film has managed to break records in India and overseas, netting Rs 414 crore in India. Here’s how much the film collected on day 8 of its release:

As per official records, the multi-starrer made approximately ₹191.5 crore on its opening day. On day 8, the film earned Rs 22.30 crore at the Indian box office, bringing its total worldwide collection to Rs 700 crore.
Despite facing a slight decline in theatre occupancy compared to the opening weekend, the movie continues to maintain its steady growth at the box office and is expected to make more numbers in its upcoming second weekend.
Industry trackers predict that the film will cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark at the box office in the days ahead. The sci-fi film has been breaking several records since it hit the big screens on June 27 in 2D and 3D and in multiple languages.
Kalki 2898 AD sequel
On Kalki 28978 AD's release day, the makers announced that a sequel would be announced soon. Director Nag Ashwin has now confirmed that the sequel to the sci-fi spectacle is already in the works.
Producer Ashwini Dutt had also confirmed that while 60 percent of the work on the sequel has been completed, several major scenes still need to be shot. However, during a recent live chat on his social media handles, Nag Ashwin hinted that fans may have to wait until 2027 for the Kalki 2898 AD sequel.

Kalki 2898 AD boasts a star-studded star cast that includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Shobana, Saswata Chatterjee, and Brahmanandam.
The film, helmed by Nag Ashwin, also has popular faces making cameo appearances, such as Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, and Malavika Nair.
