Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 11: Prabhas’ film enters the Rs 500-crore club in India | Deets inside

Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s biggest blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD has been breaking records ever since its release. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, has been dominating the worldwide box office, making it an unstoppable magnum opus this year. The film, which was released in multiple languages, has now entered the glorious Rs 500-crore club in India in just 11 days. Here’s the language-wise breakdown of the film’s collection so far: 

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection

The Prabhas-starrer made an impressive opening by earning Rs 95.3 crore at the box office. The Nag Ashwin directorial sci-fi action drama’s first-day performance was fuelled by its Telugu version's earnings, which remained at ₹65.83 crore on the first day. Now, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned approximately Rs 510 crore in India, while the worldwide box office collection crossed Rs 800 crore last week, as posted by producer Vyjayanthi Movies. The film has been doing exceptionally well in most languages, with Hindi pulling an estimated ₹22 crore, followed by Telugu with ₹14 crore, Tamil with ₹3 crore, Malayalam ₹1.8 crore, and Kannada ₹0.5 crore in 11 days.

Nag Ashwin on special appearances for Kalki 2898 AD sequel

The makers of Kalki 2898 AD had earlier announced that the sequel for the magnum opus is in the works and that it will be released in 2027. Recently, at a media event, Ashwin revealed that he will be bringing in Nani and Naveen Polishetty for the sequel of the film. The writer-director revealed the possibility of bringing more heroes and actors into the Kalki universe, stating, “I will surely bring actors Nani and Naveen Polishetty into Kalki 2898 AD Part 2. In the first part, I couldn't find the space to bring in those actors.”

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi spectacle revolves around a dystopian era where the modern avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, Kalki, is said to descend on Earth to eradicate evil forces. The movie boasts a star-studded cast that includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Anna Ben, Pasupathy, Shobana, Saswata Chatterjee, and Brahmanandam.
