Telugu superstar Jr NTR held a small event on Friday to celebrate the success of his latest movie, Devara: Part 1. While the celebration was on a smaller scale than originally planned due to restrictions on holding a larger fan event, NTR expressed his deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from his fans.
"I regret not being able to hold a grand celebration with all my fans, but I am eternally indebted to them for making this film such a huge success," Jr NTR shared during the event. The star noted that the production team didn't receive clearance from the police department for the event due to the ongoing Navaratri celebrations, which were considered a security risk.
It's noteworthy that the planned pre-release event had to be cancelled after overcrowding at the venue caused significant damage to property, forcing the producers to call it off.
Devara: Part 1 has emerged as a massive commercial success, marking Jr NTR's seventh consecutive box office hit. "This film’s success is a testament to the unwavering love and support of my fans. I am forever grateful," he said emotionally.
Jr NTR also took the opportunity to acknowledge the cast and crew of Devara, calling them "the pillars of Devara," and thanked them for their immense contribution to the film. "They put their faith in the director’s vision and worked tirelessly to bring it to life."
During his speech, he spoke highly of the film's director, Koratala Siva, who faced a significant setback after his previous film, Acharya, underperformed. NTR recalled Siva's determination and hard work throughout the making of Devara. "He’s like a big brother to me, always standing by my side. Since we started making this movie, I never saw him smile. The amount of struggle and effort he put in was immense. Anirudh (the film’s music director) can vouch for it, as he saw how stressed Siva was during the scoring of the background music. But Anirudh assured him that this movie would be a blockbuster hit—and today, I finally see a sense of peace on his face. Thanks to the audience for that."
Devara: Part 1 has earned a staggering Rs 400 crore by the end of its first week, despite opening to mixed reactions from critics. The film has not only achieved massive financial success but has also given a much-needed career boost to Koratala Siva, reaffirming his status as a leading filmmaker in Telugu cinema.
With the movie continuing its strong run in its second week, Devara is expected to post even bigger numbers in the days to come, further solidifying its success.
