Jhund director Nagraj Manjule to work with Aamir Khan next, confirms he's working on a project with the actor in mind
National Award winning filmmaker Nagraj Manjule has spoken about his desire to work with Aamir Khan next, reveals he has project in works which is being developed with Aamir in mind.
Aamir Khan who is busy with post production work of his long anticipated film Laal Singh Chaddha recently took out time from his schedule to watch filmmaker Nagraj Manuje’s film Jhund at a private screening. The Bollywood star who is said to have recommended Amitabh Bachchan for the sports drama, could soon be seen starring in a Nagraj Manjule film himself.
The filmmaker who marks his debut in Hindi cinema with Jhund has confirmed he has been developing a project with Aamir in mind during a recent interview with KoiMoi. During the interview, the Nation Award winning director said that Aamir too is keen on collaborating with him and has been supportive of his career since he made his debut with the Marathi film Fandry.
Nagraj Manjule’s film was loved by Aamir who teared up after watching the sports drama which also highlights the class and opportunity divide in the country and shows how a sports teacher set out to change that training slum kids in football. Aamir also met the cast of the film post the screening and invited them home also introducing these young actors to his son Azad Rao Khan .
Aamir also gets a special thanks in the opening credits of Jhund which arrived in cinemas on Friday and has been highly appreciated.
While Nagraj Manjule and Aamir still have to finalise and announce their project together, the actor’s only focus, for the time being, is Laal Singh Chaddha which after multiple delays due to the pandemic is now scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 11 August.
The film is the Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks ’ classic Forrest Gump and will be touching upon various big moments in Indian history though the journey of Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie also stars Kareena Kapoor , Pankaj Tripathi, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya.
