Jawan Box Office Day 5: Shah Rukh Khan’s film sails into Rs 300 crore club, passes Monday test with flying colours

2023 has turned into Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan’s year. After his 4 year long self imposed hiatus, the superstar made his much awaited comeback this year. He took the box office by storm with Pathaan, which made the record of Bollywood’s highest grossing opener. Well, last Friday he returned to theatres with his second film of the year. With Atlee Kumar’s directorial Jawan, SRK broke his own record. The action thriller made a collection of Rs 75 crore in India, which surpassed Pathaan’s opening day collection by a whopping Rs 18 crore. But how did Shah Rukh’s film do on its first Monday?

The film did take a dip, as is expected on the first weekday after release. But it still managed to rake in huge numbers, proving that SRK’s charm is unbeatable. By Sunday evening, Jawan had created history when it scored the highest single day and extended opening weekend ever. According to the latest report shared by Sacnilk, the Shah Rukh starrer collected Rs 30 crore in India in all languages. The earnings on Monday took the film’s total box office collection to Rs 316.16 crore. Atlee and Shah Rukh, along with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, smoothly sailed into the Rs 300 crore club following in the footsteps of Pathaan and Gadar 2, the biggest blockbuster hits of the year.

In India, Jawan has collected Rs 316.16 crore. Meanwhile the film’s worldwide collection is a whopping Rs 520.8 crore. It has now emerged as the fourth highest grosser of the year right behind Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Tamil film Jailer. Lekin picture abhi baaki hai mere dost! Shah Rukh has one more release on the way and we can’t help but wonder if he will break his own record once again. Titled Dunki, the much anticipated comedy drama marks SRK’s first collaboration with ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The man is unstoppable and we couldn’t be happier!
