Filmmaker Prasanth Varma is excited about starting production on his upcoming film Jai Hanuman, which stars Kannada actor Rishab Shetty in the lead role. On Friday, Prasanth shared a behind-the-scenes photo showing him giving directions to Rishab on the set of Jai Hanuman, likely taken during the movie's photoshoot.
"Absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible love for the #JaiHanumanFirstLook. A heartfelt thanks to the National Award-winning actor @shetty_rishab sir, whose devotion to HANUMAN Ji and unmatched dedication have truly brought this vision to life. His incredible transformation, meticulous perfection, and unwavering commitment have made JAI HANUMAN something truly extraordinary. From the land of Karnataka to across the globe, he is leaving no stone unturned to create an unforgettable experience for his fans. Thankful to you always and highly excited to kick-start this JAI HANUMAN journey with you, sir!" said Prasanth Varma.
Earlier this week, Prasanth officially announced that Rishab Shetty would portray Lord Hanuman, ending months of speculation surrounding the casting.
Prasanth achieved the biggest success of his career last year with Hanu-Man, which drew inspiration from the legend of Lord Hanuman. The film resonated strongly with audiences, raking in over Rs 300 crore globally. A key factor in Hanu-Man's success was its portrayal of Lord Hanuman meditating in the Himalayas, away from humanity's conflicts. Ultimately, the deity breaks his penance to intervene and protect the world from newly unleashed evil forces, a climactic moment that deeply resonated with viewers.
Jai Hanuman will focus on Lord Hanuman's unwavering loyalty and promise to Lord Rama. "Even in the darkest age, his loyalty shines unbroken—a silent vow held for his prabhu, Shri Ram," Rishab Shetty tweeted while unveiling the movie’s theme song.
Production is set to begin once Rishab completes filming Kantara: Chapter 1, the highly anticipated sequel to his 2022 blockbuster Kantara.
