A section of the media recently claimed that Superstar Rajinikanth's house in Poes Garden was flooded due to heavy rains caused by a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. However, this report holds no water!

According to official sources, the reports of waterlogging and flooding at Rajinikanth’s residence are false. Rajinikanth’s spokesperson, Riaz K. Ahmed, dismissed the rumours and issued a clarification: “Reports circulating about flooding at #Superstar @rajinikanth's residence are false. Everyone is safe and sound.”

The misleading reports stemmed from a video tweeted by a Tamil news channel, which showed waterlogging outside Rajinikanth’s house. While the area around his residence has experienced some disruption due to the rains, nothing significant has occurred. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for other parts of Chennai, where issues like flooding, waterlogging, and traffic congestion have been reported. Many residents have parked their cars on flyovers to avoid potential flood damage, recalling the severe floods of 2015.

Rajinikanth is currently recovering from a successful non-surgical medical procedure. Recently, the producers of his latest film, Vettaiyan, visited him at his residence to congratulate him on the commercial success of the movie.

According to Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan earned approximately Rs 240 crore from its worldwide theatrical release during its four-day opening weekend, making it a declared hit. However, some trade sources offer more conservative estimates, leading to confusion over the film’s actual box office performance.

Adding to the film's challenges, the heavy downpours have impacted its box office prospects. While Vettaiyan was expected to have an uninterrupted theatrical run until the end of October, the rain has disrupted normal life across South India, affecting the film’s earning potential.
