Is Nayanthara in talks with the makers of Yash starrer Toxic? Here’s what we know

Ever since the time the Yash starrer Toxic had been announced, it has been making news. While it is Kiara Advani who has been finalised to play the leading lady in the film, it is the superstar Yash who will be playing the male lead. Then, came a strong buzz that the film’s makers were in talks with Kareena Kapoor to get her on board the film.

Post that, there was again strong buzz (read ‘confusion’) that whether it will be Kareena Kapoor Khan or Kiara Advani who will be playing the leading lady. Eventually, the dust over the rumours got settled when it was clear that it will be Kiara Advani who will be playing the leading lady in the film.

The buzz then started about Kareena Kapoor being chosen to play the role of Yash’s sister in the film. The role of the sister, it is being said, is extremely strong as the sibling bond plays an important role in the film. Just today, there was a report in Pinkvilla, which stated that Kareena Kapoor will no longer be doing the film because of date issues and that’s why, the film’s makers were looking for an actress with a pan-India appeal.

The latest update, as per the aforementioned publication, is that the film’s makers are now in talks with Nayanthara to play the role of Yash’s sister. The report added that the film’s director Geethu Mohandas and Yash have had many meetings with Nayanthara in the last few weeks, with their conversations marching in the right direction.

The same report added that, on her part, Nayanthara has shown interest in doing the film as it’s a well-sketched character of a sister, which suits her image of a strong woman. She is also reportedly very impressed with Geethu Mohandas writing of a character for a female character. And if everything goes well, Nayanthara will be reportedly coming on board with Toxic within a fortnight. The film, however, is being planned to be released on April 10, 2025.
