It's been a challenging week for Kamal Haasan and director Shankar's latest outing, Indian 2. Ever since it first hit the big screens, the movie has been garnering negative attention. Viewers, who were anticipating a strong comeback for the iconic character Senapathy, were utterly disappointed by the poor screenplay and other technical errors. Despite getting a solo release, the movie still seems to be struggling to make a mark at the box office. However, this weekend, there has been a slight jump in the numbers. Here’s how much the film minted on day 9 of its release:

Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 box office collection Day 9

According to industry trackers, the latest vigilante action drama starring Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, and SJ Suryah opened to decent numbers on its release day, with a collection of Rs 50 crore. However, the film witnessed a major decline in numbers following the negative backlash, leading to the makers trimming 12 minutes of the film. Latest reports indicate that the movie has grossed close to Rs 4 crore in the domestic market on day 9, while the global collection on the same day is estimated to be around Rs 5 to 5.5 crore, bringing its total collection to Rs 149 crore. The film saw a slight growth over the weekend and is expected to cross 150 crores by this Sunday. However, the chances of the movie hitting the Rs 200-crore mark are very slim. Considering the major Tamil releases slated for the upcoming week, it is very likely that the Kamal Haasan-starrer will get sidelined among the other big anticipated releases.
