Tamil star Dhanush, who is all set to play the iconic musician in his biopic, took to his social media handles to share an interesting birthday poster from the movie. Helmed by Captain Miller director Arun Matheswaran, the biographical film will narrate the life story of the musical genius and Tamil Nadu’s pride, Ilaiyaraaja, right from the early days of his career. The movie is set to focus on his humble beginnings and his glorious musical journey, which spans over 50 years. The legendary musician has composed around 7,000 melodious pieces in several languages. Kamal Haasan not a part of the Ilaiyaraaja biopic?

Initial reports claimed that Kamal Haasan would be turning a screenwriter for the upcoming biopic of Ilaiyaraaja. However, in the latest poster, both writing and direction have been credited to Arun Matheswaran, hinting that Ulaganayagan has backed out of the project. The first poster, however, had only mentioned that Arun was at the helm of the project. Now that he is also credited as the writer in the latest poster, it confirms the rumours that the director is indeed helming and penning the screenplay of the project. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
