Identity 2024: Release date, trailer, budget, cast - all you need to know about Tovino Thomas’ film

After much anticipation, the Tovino Thomas-starrer action thriller Identity is all set to hit theaters very soon. Directed and co-written by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan—who previously helmed the Tovino-starrer Forensic in 2020—the upcoming film is said to be a two-part action thriller starring Tovino Thomas, South Indian diva Trisha, and Vinay Rai. Led by Tovino Thomas, Identity is set to hit the big screens on January 2, 2025. The movie has received a U/A certification, with a runtime of 157.54 minutes, which converts to 2 hours and 37 minutes.

The trailer, which was released earlier, opens with Tovino Thomas’ character, Haran Shankar, a criminal sketch artist. The glimpse hints at a thrilling investigative actioner that revolves around a mysterious person who is being pursued by several characters, including a woman with a scenic memory, a sketch artist, and other officers.

Identity plot

The film revolves around a mysterious murder that occurs in broad daylight. ACP Allen Jacob, a dedicated police officer, is tasked with solving the case. To aid in the investigation, he enlists the help of his friend Haran Shankar, a renowned sketch artist, to create a portrait of the suspect. However, upon completing the sketch, Haran discovers that the killer is a powerful and influential individual.

Identity cast and crew

Directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, the film is produced by Century Films and Ragam Movies. The star-studded cast also includes Bollywood actress Mandira Bedi, Shammy Thilakan, Aju Varghese, Arjun Radhakrishnan, and Archana Kavi. On the technical front, the film features Akhil George's cinematography and Chaman Chakko's editing. The movie will be dubbed in five languages: Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
