Hrithik Roshan & Jr NTR's War 2 release date announced, set to clash with Kartik Aaryan-Karan Johar's film

After Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3, all eyes are set on YRF spy universe’s sixth film, War 2. The makers had already piqued the audience’s interest after showing Hrithik Roshan as agent Kabir in a special appearance in the post-credit scene of Tiger 3. Now, they have finally revealed the release date of the film.

Interestingly, War 2 is set to arrive over Independence Day Weekend in 2025, the same time when Kartik Aaryan’s first film with Karan Johar is scheduled to release. The trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Wednesday tweeted, “ "#BreakingNews… YRF ANNOUNCES ‘WAR 2’ RELEASE DATE: INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND 2025… The sixth film from #YRFSpyUniverse - #War2 - now has a release date… Get ready for mayhem at the #Boxoffice on 14 Aug 2025 [Thursday]… #AyanMukerji directs the film that’s produced by #YRF (sic)."

Earlier, Karan Johar put an end to rift rumours with Kartik by announcing a film together. He wrote, “Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day!!Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies & @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025!!!! Kartik, happy birthday to you…may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen. @ektarkapoor, being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!!!”

Meanwhile, War 2 will see Hrithik reprising his role as Kabir, and witnessing a clash with south sensation Jr NTR, who has reportedly joined the cast as antagonist. Kiara Advani is also being part of the cast. The upcoming film will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, who has already began prepping up for pre-production wok as per reports.
