Hombale Films locks Prabhas for 3 blockbuster projects, including Salaar 2

Prabhas in Salaar
Hombale Films announced on Friday a landmark three-film deal with Telugu superstar Prabhas, aiming for one major release each year from 2026 to 2028.
"We are proud to unite with the Rebel Star, Prabhas, in a groundbreaking three-film partnership that celebrates the essence of Indian cinema and aims to take it to the world. This is a declaration of our commitment to creating cinematic experiences that will be unforgettable. The stage is set, and the path ahead is limitless. Get ready, as the journey begins with Salaar 2," stated Hombale Films.
This multi-film contract is unprecedented in Indian cinema, where Hollywood-style studio deals are rare. While top stars and directors in India usually have the freedom to collaborate with multiple production houses, this deal brings a new approach. Stars like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Suriya sometimes co-produce films to secure larger profit shares, but few stars commit to multiple projects exclusively with one production company over several years. However, this contract doesn’t prevent Prabhas from working with other studios on different projects.
Prabhas’s next few years are packed with highly anticipated, big-budget releases, including Salaar 2. Salaar Part 1 was released last year and was a major success, prompting production to begin on its sequel, though the timeline for its completion and release remains unclear. Alongside Salaar 2, Prabhas’s slate includes a slew of big-budget movies.
Prabhas earlier this year scored a huge box office hit with Kalki 2898 AD. The film also starring Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, raked in more than Rs 1000 crore in ticket sales against its Rs 600 crore budget. This was the second film in Prabhas' career to achieve this box office feat. The sequal to the project, Kalki 2, is expected to go on the floors next year. Prabhas is expected to join the sets of Spirit, written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Animal fame. It's touted to be a cop drama. Prabhas also has a historical war film Fauji in the works.
Prabha's next release is The Raja Saab, which is due in cinemas on April 10 next year.
