Happy birthday, Thalapathy: Makers unveil stylish glimpse of Vijay from The GOAT

After a long wait, it's finally time for Thalapathy fans to rejoice. On the special occasion of Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday today, the makers of his upcoming sci-fi action drama The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT) unveiled a special glimpse from the film. The stylish glimpse gave fans a peek into the upcoming sci-fi actioner, with Vijay’s dual roles taking centre stage. 

Vijay's The GOAT is a high-octane actioner

The first glimpse showcased Vijay in dual roles, zooming through the streets of a foreign country while chasing down masked goons. Vijay plays both a father and his son, portraying a 50-year-old and a 19-year-old in this Venkat Prabhu directorial. The stylish first- glance has captured fans' attention, which has sparked numerous theories about the film.

One shot suggests the film is set in 2050, showing the older Vijay trying to escape from a room engulfed in fire. This implies that there might be important character losses, with fans speculating that one of the squad members might betray the protagonist. 

Although the film is billed as a sci-fi action thriller, the makers have cleverly concealed the time travel elements, which has further heightened the anticipation surrounding the film. Overall, the new glimpse is a double treat for Vijay fans, who are also excited to hear the second romantic track later today from the film after the first glimpse was unveiled.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu in his maiden collaboration with thalapathy Vijay, the upcoming film is bankrolled by AGS Entertainment Banner. The film has an impressive ensemble cast that includes Mohan, Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer. The music for the film has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Siddhartha Nuni as the cinematographer.

The Greatest of All Time is scheduled to hit the big screens on September 5, 2024.
