Ganapath vs Yaariyan 2 Day 2 Box Office: Tiger Shroff starrer sees no growth, Divya Khosla's film continues to struggle

Ganapath, starring Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff, debuted in theatres on October 20, 2023. Even before it was released, the movie generated a lot of hype among the audience. The anticipation among viewers for Tiger and Kriti's reunion was high, and the cameo of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan added to the craze. However, it failed to pull the audience to the big screens owing to apparently average reviews. Even Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan 2, which was released along with Tiger's film, could not charm the audience.

Ganapath is reportedly having trouble getting off to a slow start. The first-day collection was only Rs 2.5 crores, making it the lowest opener for Tiger till now. The film continued to remain slow at the box office as it minted a mere Rs 2.3 crores on its second day as per early estimates. The overall collection currently stands at Rs 4.86 crores. It seems like, Tiger and Kriti's on-screen chemistry was unable to do its magic to meet the audience's demand this time.

Yaariyan 2, which is a sequel to the 2014 film Yaariyan, also failed to make its place in the hearts of the audience. With only Rs 60 lakhs in sales on opening day, the movie utterly failed to do well at the box office. As per the reports, the film earned only Rs 52 lakhs on its second day. Directed by Radhika Rao and Vijay Sarpu, the film centres on a group of cousins who encounter obstacles that will fundamentally alter their lives. The cast includes Anaswara Ranjan, Warina Hussain, Meezaan Jafri, and Divya Khosla Kumar.

Ganapath is an apocalyptic dystopian action picture, whereas Yaariyan 2 is a coming-of-age love drama film. Despite the fact that both movies are completely different from one another, they both struggled to connect with audiences and received a lot of unfavourable reviews. Now that they are at odds with one another, it will be intriguing to see how both of them will perform in the coming days. Will Yaariyan 2 be able to defeat Ganapath?
