After the disastrous performance of Shankar's last film with Kamal Haasan, Indian 2, the director is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film with Ram Charan, Game Changer. The makers recently wrapped up the shooting of the much-delayed film and the team has swiftly begun the post-production work. They took to social media to announce that the dubbing work on the movie had begun, with the caption, "Team #GameChanger Kickstarted the dubbing works. All set for the Mega fireworks - Christmas 2024."

It seems the makers are set to meet the promised release window in December 2024. While fans have patiently been awaiting a glimpse of the film, sources suggest that a surprise teaser might be released next month. Watch this space for more updates.

Shankar is all praise for Game Changer

At a promotional event, Shankar described Game Changer as a mass-commercial film and an out-and-out entertainer, something he always wanted to make in Tollywood. “I enjoy watching mass entertainers made in Telugu cinema. Hence, I wanted to recreate something like that in my style. That's when Karthik Subbaraj narrated the story of Game Changer to me, and I decided to take it up. I took his story and adapted it to suit my filmmaking style,” he revealed.

Shankar about Game Changer

For those who are unaware, the story of Game Changer is penned by director-writer Karthik Subbaraj. The Jigarthanda DoubleX director turned down the offer to also direct the political thriller, insisting that S Shankar helm the project.

Will Indian 2’s failure affect Game Changer?

Director Shankar was simultaneously working on Indian 2 and Game Changer for a couple of years. However, the recent failure of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has affected the buzz surrounding the Ram Charan's Game Changer. Shankar failed to impress with Indian 2, and now Ram Charan's fans, who have been eagerly waiting for the release of Game Changer, are concerned about the outcome of the Telugu film. The Tamil director’s struggles with Indian 2 had everyone hoping that Game Changer wouldn't suffer the same fate. However, fans are now uncertain if the director will be able to save Game Changer. We have to wait a little longer to see if the director’s losing streak continues or if Game Changer will indeed live up to its name.

In addition to Ram Charan, Game Changer also stars Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar in key roles.
