Gaganachari: Anarkali Marikar's sci-fi mockumentary to stream on this platform too

Malayalam cinema announced its entry into the sci-fi mockumentary genre with Gaganachari, directed by Arun Chandu. The film, which stars Anarkali Marikkar, Gokul Suresh, and Aju Varghese, will be available on Manorama Max soon.

The film, which released in theatres in June 2024, made its OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video in October. Manorama Max recently announced that Anarkali Marikkar’s Gaganachari will also be available on the streaming platform soon. However, the popular Malayalam platform is yet to confirm the exact OTT release date of the movie.

Gaganachari will be available in Malayalam with English subtitles on Manorama Max. You can also watch the film on OTTplay Premium.

Gaganachari plot and cast

Set in the year 2040, the movie focuses on three bachelors huddled up in an apocalypse bunker in a dystopian Kerala. Their lives are upended when an alien from a distant planet lands at their doorstep. Anarkali Marikar plays the alien in the post-apocalyptic tale along with KB Ganesh Kumar, Gokul Suresh, and Aju Varghese in other lead roles.

Despite making a quiet entry at the cinemas, the movie slowly won the appreciation of the audiences and found more love upon its OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video. With the movie set to stream on Manorama Max too, Gaganachari is likely to reach a larger audience.

Other Malayalam movies on Manorma Max

Meanwhile, Manorama Max has been adding acclaimed films to its library such as Kerala State Award winner Pallotty 90's Kids. Don Palathara and Vinay Forrt's Family too started streaming on the platform earlier this month. Kadha Innuvare, starring Biju Menon, Nikhila Vimal, and Methil Devika, is another recent addition on Manorama Max.

Thaanara, starring Shine Tom Chacko, will also make its OTT premiere on Manorama Max from December 27.

The platform has also bagged the OTT rights of I Am Kathalan, which stars Naslen K Gafoor of Premalu fame. But the OTT release date is yet to be confirmed.
