Gadar 2: Sunny Deol starrer to see a 24-year leap; Tara Singh will travel to Pakistan to save his son

After various speculations did the rounds for months, Sunny Deol finally confirmed that he is in fact returning with the sequel of his 2001 super hit film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. On the auspicious day of Dusshera last year, the actor along with his beautiful co-star Ameesha Patel and director Anil Sharma shared the motion poster of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues. While Sunny and Ameesha will be seen as Tara Singh and Sakeena once again, Utkarsh Sharma will reprise his role of their on-screen son Jeete. Last month, the team began shooting and left us super excited with snaps from the muhurat.

Well, a report shared by Pinkvilla has now revealed some juicy details of the much awaited film. A source in the know was quoted saying, “Gadar was an epic love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena during the partition era. With the sequel, the makers are taking a 24-year leap, as the story unfolds in the times of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. While Tara Singh was in Pakistan to get Sakeena back in Gadar, this time around, he will be going to Pakistan in the midst of this turbulent war, to save his son, Jeete.”

The report further revealed that the ‘emotional crust’ of Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will follow the story of how far a father would go for his son. The sequel will be quite different than the 2011 romantic action drama, but the source promises that Sunny’s character Tara Singh will be as intense as before. Well, we can’t wait to see how it turns out!
