First look and title of Mammootty-GVM film to be released very soon! Details inside

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s highly anticipated Malayalam directorial debut with megastar Mammootty will soon get a title! The filmmakers recently announced that the first look and title of the upcoming project will be revealed tomorrow, on September 7, 2024. They teased fans with a quote: "It's our business to know what other people don't know." The title and first look of our #ProductionNo6, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, will be unveiled tomorrow at 10 AM IST. Stay tuned." 

This announcement has been eagerly awaited, as fans of both the Malayalam superstar and the acclaimed director have been curious about what Gautham Vasudev Menon has been working on for his Malayalam directorial debut. The movie marks GVM’s first time helming a Malayalam film, and his collaboration with Mammootty has already generated significant buzz. 

According to reports, the film is an investigative thriller with comic elements, where Mammootty plays a private investigator, somewhat resembling Sherlock Holmes. Despite his Malayali roots, GVM has never directed a Malayalam movie before. However, the popular director is known for incorporating Kerala references in his movies, whether through his characters or stories.

Mammootty serves biriyani to GVM on film set

Just a few days ago, a heartwarming video of Malayalam megastar Mammootty serving biriyani on the set of his upcoming film with Tamil actor-director Gautham Vasudev Menon went viral, delighting many viewers. In the clip, Mammootty is seen serving biriyani to Gautham Vasudev Menon—a touching tradition that has become a routine on Mammootty’s film sets. Reports suggest that the veteran actor personally serves biriyani to the cast and crew on the last day of shooting, a gesture eagerly anticipated by both fans and crew members. 

Mammootty-GVM collaborations

The yet-to-be-titled project, directed by GVM, is bankrolled by Mammootty’s home banner, Mammootty Kampany. This collaboration isn’t surprising, as Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mammootty are also working together on the action flick Bazooka, where Gautham plays an antagonist named Benjamin Joshua alongside Mammootty.
