Yami Gautam is busy celebrating the success of her film A Thursday at the moment. The actress who has made a sincere effort in Bollywood to do roles which stand out since she arrived on the scene with Vicky Donor and continued the streak with movies like Badlapur , Kaabil , Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bala and now A Thursday.

With another feature added in her hat as she earns accolades for her performance in the Behzad Khambata helmed thrillers, Yami calls the film a very different curve in her career and promises more surprising roles from her end as she prepares to play an IPS officer, journalist and a lawyer in the her strong line-up of upcoming films.

Yami will follow up the success of A Thursday with another thriller Lost. The movie marks the return of filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury after the National Award winning Pink . Yami shares, “Lost is again a film which is very special to me. It has been directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, I call him Tony Da fondly. He directed a very fine film before called Pink. It is an investigative drama with a little undertone of an emotional thriller, it’s a very unique way to describe it though. It talks about media integrity and it’s Tody Da’s world so you can expect something different. I play a journalist in that film, a crime beat journalist.

“In Lost, I got to work with some of the finest technicians and work with Pankaj Kapur ji who is an institution in himself and so for me there was a lot to learn,” Yami added further. Lost went on floors last year and the actress concluded shoot in August.

Guiding us further through her filmography Yami also spoke about Dasvi, the social drama for which her first look was revealed last year. Abhsiehk Bachchan leads the film playing a SSC failed Chief Minister and talking about her part Yami shares she plays an IPS officer in the project and revealed, “Dasvi talks about the educational system here in India in its own way but again with a undertone of humour. Then again some really social relevant things reach the audience more when it’s funny, not like slapstick funny. It has Tushar [Jalota] directing it. It’s his first film.”

“Had a really good time working on it. It has Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrit [Kaur] who I think has done a terrific job in the film,” she added.

Coming to the other comedy in her line-up this year, Yami will be seen teaming up with Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in Amit Rai’s Oh My God 2.

“I finished shooting for Oh My God 2 which is the sequel to the original Oh My God. Just retaining the essence of the first film the basic structure where it talks about a very relevant matter which is very pivotal to our society and how it can co-exist with faith, I think that’s very interesting and I play a lawyer in that film. Then of course I have Akshay sir and the Pankaj Tripathi ji playing pivitol roles and that was again a very good experience,” Yami shared talking about Oh My God 2.

Among the project she has yet to wrap up, Yami has another thriller which she is working on and promises will be different. She will be seen in a starkly different role in a romantic-comedy which is touted to be produced by Aditya Dhar . The film reportedly was earlier titled Raat Baaki starring Fawad Khan and Katrina Kaif and was supposed to mark Dhar’s debut in Bollywood. Yami will now star in the film which is being directed now by Rishabh Seth.

Due to go on floors in March, Yami shares very little about the movie as she signs out, “It is a genre we kind of don’t see any more. It’s Pratik Gandhi and myself and I promise you it’s going to be a different one,” she concluded.
