Exclusive: Nushrratt Bharuccha reveals why she chose to star in Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Janhit Mein Jaari

Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has been soaring high on the success of her recent releases and has truly proven that she is an exceptionally versatile performer. Her last film Janhit Mein Jaari , which marked her reunion with Dream Girl director Raaj Shaandilyaa , also emerged to be an entertaining watch. It followed the story of Mannu, portrayed by Nushrratt, who takes up the job of a condom sales executive. Critics as well as fans lauded the actress for her performance and the film also received praise for handling the topic of safe sex with utmost sensitivity.

Well, striking a balance between maintaining sensitivity and yet delivering a message with humor is not easy. Talking about the same, Nushrratt shares, “The major reason why I said yes to the film is because Raaj sir was writing it, producing it, going to be on set and will be directing me for most part of it. I was very clear that he is the only man with a vision, who I can believe in. And I believe, he is someone who can say something this sensitive and this special with an underlying humor. There's nobody else other than Raaj Shaandilyaa who can do that. So the fact that there was him on the set everyday, guiding me, guiding the film and making sure this is how it's made and this is what the film is supposed to be is the prime reason why I chose the film.”

She goes on to explain, “I have to trust the people I work with and I trusted him even in Dream Girl, and I think I will always trust him with what he does. So most of the job was his, all I could do is be a sounding board and say that to him and wonder, "really, do we really say this? And why don't we say it like this and why don't we do it like this", but those are very healthy conversations on set because that just makes everything better, but right from the beginning his writing was pretty much bang on and he was really steering the ship completely on his own, in the right direction and we all had to just sit on that ship and enjoy the ride.”
