Dunki Vs Salaar Advance Booking: Shah Rukh Khan starrer earns Rs 1.24 crore so far, lags behind Prabhas' film
As per reports, the advance booking of both films has begun, and the Shah Rukh starrer trails behind Prabhas’ film.
After tasting success with Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is geared up for his third release of the year. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is set to arrive in theatres on December 21, 2023, just a day before the release of Prabhas’ Salaar. As per reports, the advance booking of both films has begun, and the Shah Rukh starrer trails behind Prabhas’ film.
As per Sacnilk, Dunki earned Rs 1.24 crore so far in advance booking. In total 33770 tickets have been sold for 2836 shows in Hindi. On the other hand, Salaar has collected over Rs 1.5 crore in advance bookings which include Rs 80.30 lakh in Telugu, Rs 21.03 lakh in Malayalam, Rs 1.76 lakh in Tamil and Rs 1900 in Kannada gross. In Hindi, only 972 tickets were sold for Salaar for 67 shows amounting to Rs 2.06 lakh. The next few days are going to be crucial to determine the opening collections of the films and who recorded the most numbers.
Trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted, “Dunki Initial pre-sale starts on a remarkable note. The film has sold 10K +tickets at national chain multiplexes. Non-national chains showing good movement too. If the momentum continues then Dunki will challenge top films of 2023 in terms of final advance booking. The next 3 days will give a clear picture.”
Meanwhile, Dunki is upcoming social drama made on a restrict budget of Rs 85 crore. The film revolves around a group of friends who use a backdoor process to move to another country, then struggle to return home. The film also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal. On the other hand, Salaar is the story of power politics in a fictional town called Khansaar. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in the pivotal roles.
