Filmmaker Venky Atluri has made a bold claim about his upcoming movie, Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salmaan, stating that it will introduce Indian audiences to a genre never before explored in Indian cinema. The director revealed that the film delves into the banking sector, specifically financial scams, a topic he believes has not been portrayed properly in Indian films.

"For a long time, I wanted to make a movie on the banking sector. I think in India there was no proper picture of banking scams. So I wanted to explore it and make a Wolf of Wall Street-like movie. This film will be on similar lines. I think not just for Telugu cinema, but this genre is new for the entire Indian cinema," Atluri stated, emphasizing the originality of his project.

Set in the late 1980s, Lucky Baskhar centres on financial frauds and stock market scams, with Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead role. Atluri shared that writing the screenplay took him a considerable amount of time, describing it as his "longest writing spree." He even consulted industry experts to ensure the technical accuracy of the story. "The technicalities of banking and stock markets had to be correct. I wanted to make it engaging yet authentic," he explained.

While the movie draws inspiration from the world of high-stakes finance, the producers clarified that Lucky Baskhar is purely fictional and not based on any real-life events. "To put it simply, this film will appeal to anyone who likes money," Atluri added with a grin, expressing confidence that the storyline will resonate with a broad audience.

The film's producers believe that Lucky Baskhar will also help raise awareness about the stock market among the general public. Despite facing multiple delays in release due to concerns over clashing with other major Telugu films, Lucky Baskhar is now slated for release on October 31, during the Diwali celebrations. The initial release was postponed from September 27 to avoid competing with the much-anticipated Devara Part 1.

To build anticipation, Atluri announced that the film's trailer will be launched on October 21, followed by a full-fledged promotional campaign. Besides Dulquer Salmaan, Lucky Baskhar features Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi, and P. Sai Kumar in key roles.
