Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's upcoming film Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most anticipated movies of late 2024. With just a few weeks left for its release, the cast and crew are gearing up for high-voltage promotions across the country. Industry experts predict that Pushpa 2 could shatter previous box office records and set a new benchmark not just for Telugu cinema but for Indian cinema as a whole.
In an upcoming episode of Unstoppable with NBK, Allu Arjun is expected to address rumours about the movie’s record-breaking pre-release business. According to recent reports, Pushpa 2’s worldwide theatrical value is estimated at Rs 1000 crore. If accurate, this would make it bigger than RRR and KGF: Chapter 2. Notably, the margin for commercial success for those movies was significantly smaller. Films like RRR, Baahubali 2, and KGF 2 became massive hits by grossing over Rs 1000 crore at the box office, even though they could have been considered hits with collections of Rs 600–Rs 800 crore. In contrast, Pushpa 2 must cross the Rs 1000 crore mark to be deemed a success. Anything less could be perceived as a setback.
A new promo for the second part of Allu Arjun’s interview on Unstoppable with NBK features the show’s host, Nandamuri Balakrishna, asking the superstar whether Pushpa 2 has indeed secured Rs 1000 crore in pre-release deals. While Allu Arjun’s full response isn’t revealed in the teaser, he hints at massive expectations, stating, “Definitely the biggest...,” and promises an earth-shattering response for Pushpa 2 at the box office.
Earlier reports speculated that Pushpa 2 could break records by becoming the first Indian film to earn Rs 300 crore on its opening day. If achieved, this would redefine Indian box office standards and set an unprecedented milestone.
The full episode featuring Allu Arjun will premiere on Aha on November 22. Written and directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to release in cinemas on December 5.
