Dhanush's first movie of 2023 'Vaathi' has officially entered the 100-crore club

Dhanush 's period drama Vaathi has grossed over 100 crores at the box office, the movie was directed by Venky Atluri and is bilingual having been shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

 Dhanush is playing the role of a college professor in the movie, The movie was released last month and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics.

Composer G V Prakash is handling the music for the movie with Dinesh Krishnan handling the camera and editing being helmed by Naveen Nooli.

The cast of the movie includes Dhanush, Samyuktha, P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, and Hyper Aadi.

Vaathi is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banner Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios.

So Dhanush's Vaathi is the actor's first big hit movie of 2023. Meanwhile, the actor has a lot line up this year, he will be starting in the upcoming period-action movie Captain Miller.

The movie will mark Matheswaran's directorial debut and his first collaboration with Dhanush. The movie will also be the first time Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar will work alongside Dhanush, making Captain Miller his second Tamil movie after Rajinikanth's Jailer.

Dhanush will also be donning the director's cap for the second time this year after the 2017 movie Pa Paandi. The movie will be produced by Dhanush's own production company Wunderbar Films in association with Sun Picture.

Pa Paandi which he also co-wrote starred veteran actors Rajkiran and Revathi and followed the story of Pandian Pazhanisami(Rajkiran) a retired stuntman who goes off in search of his long-lost love Poonthendra(Revathi).

The project is still in the early stages of pre-production under the working title 'D50'. the cast of the movie includes Dushara Vijayan is known for her roles in movies like the 2021 sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai and joining her are Vishnu Vishal and SJ Suryah.
