After a glorious theatrical run, Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest sea-action drama, Devara: Part 1, has finally made its way to OTT. The Koratala Siva directorial, which hit the big screens on September 27, is now available for streaming on Netflix. The film is offered in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The Hindi version will be released soon.
The OTT platform wrote, "Devara erra samudhram ika mee therala pai pravahisthondhi, sooseyandi. Watch Devara, now on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Coming soon in Hindi."
All you need to know about Devara
Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, stars Jr. NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. The film marks the Telugu debut of Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It narrates the tale of Devara and his son Varadha, with Jr. NTR taking on dual roles. Set against the coastal islands of the 1980s and 1990s, the story revolves around NTR's character protecting his community. Saif Ali Khan plays the primary antagonist, Bhaira, while Janhvi Kapoor portrays Thangam, NTR's love interest.
Upon its theatrical release, the film received mixed to positive reviews from audiences and critics. While the film’s production values were praised, the screenplay of the actioner drew criticism. Despite this, the movie surpassed expectations, earning over ₹500 crore against its ₹300 crore budget.
Devara sequel in the making
While the first part is now available on OTT, the makers have already announced that a sequel is in the works. Reports suggest that most of the principal photography for the sequel has already been completed, with the remaining portions expected to wrap up within the next eight months.
Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for Devara: Part 1, and the film is expected to reach an even wider audience following its OTT release.
