Devara Chuttamalle song: Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor shine but Anirudh’s composition reminds us of Manike Mage Hithe | Watch

After teasing fans with several updates, the makers of Jr NTR’s upcoming film Devara have finally released the second single, 'Chuttamalle', from the movie. Unlike the first single, 'Fear Song', this track is a romantic and melodious number, with vocals rendered by Shilpa Rao in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the new song showcases the sizzling chemistry between Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The pair are seen romancing against a stunning backdrop of beaches and lush forests, with Janhvi (Thangam) looking like a goddess. 

However, the new song draws comparisons with another popular Sri Lankan song. It is hard not to notice the striking similarity between the song’s tune and the 2020 viral Sri Lankan hit 'Manike Mage Hithe,' sung by Yohani and Satheeshan. The Sri Lankan song topped the music charts globally few years ago and captured the attention of Indian musicians. 

Following the release of the new romantic single from Devara, many fans took to their X handles to compare it with the Sri Lankan song, speculating whether Anirudh drew inspiration from it for his new track.

According to Telugu reports, Jr NTR is rumoured to play a saviour figure tasked with protecting ten coastal villages where a vast treasure is hidden. The leaked plot suggests that 10,000 masked gunmen attempt to steal the treasure, prompting the Telugu star to unleash his power in a high-stakes action drama. 

Although these speculations are yet to be confirmed, fans are excited to see what director Koratala Siva has in store and are eagerly awaiting the release of Devara: Part 1 on September 27, 2024. 

Devara: Part 1 is made on a massive budget of Rs 200 crore. Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, and Abhimanyu Singh play supporting roles. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the original background score and soundtrack for the film.
