Devara Box Office Collection Day 5: Jr NTR-starrer witnesses growth; inches closer to Rs 350 crore mark

Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Devara has witnessed significant growth following a major drop on day 4 of its release. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie had been consistently performing well at the box office before it failed its first Monday test. Starring Jr NTR, Saif, and Janhvi Kapoor, the movie has already crossed Rs 340 crore and is inching toward Rs 350 crore. Here’s how the film performed on day 5 of its release:

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Devara saw a massive drop in numbers on day 4, earning only Rs 12.75 crore at the box office. However, with Wednesday being Gandhi Jayanti, Devara's evening and night shows experienced a surge in footfalls and collections, paving the way for even higher numbers on Wednesday. The film's total all-India net collection has reached Rs 186 crore, while its worldwide gross stands at nearly Rs 340 crore. The original Telugu version maintained steady earnings, grossing Rs 8 crore, while the dubbed Hindi version saw an increase, bringing in over Rs 5 crore.

The film is poised to perform better and rake in more numbers with the upcoming Dussehra holidays.

Devara Hindi version trimmed by 7 minutes

The movie's runtime was set at 2 hours and 55 minutes, but the Hindi version was shortened by seven minutes. Reports suggest that solo scenes featuring Telugu actors were cut to appeal to a wider audience. A few scenes with Telugu actors have been trimmed accordingly.

Devara: Part 1 narrates the story of Devara and his son Varadha, with Jr NTR playing dual roles. The story is set against the backdrop of coastal islands during the 1980s and 1990s, where NTR's character protects the people of his community. Saif Ali Khan's character, Bhaira, is the primary antagonist in the film. Janhvi Kapoor plays Thangam, NTR's love interest.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara also stars Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles.
