Demonte Colony 2 on OTT: Arulnithi's hit horror drama expected to stream on this date

The latest Tamil hit, Demonte Colony 2, completed 25 days of its theatrical run on Sunday. With the movie's OTT debut imminent, the cast and crew celebrated this box office milestone by expressing their gratitude to fans for making it a major success.

Demonte Colony 2 is expected to arrive on ZEE5 soon. According to industry sources, the film is likely to follow a four-week theatrical window before debuting on the OTT platform. It's safe to assume that Demonte Colony 2 will begin streaming by the end of next week.

Written and directed by Ajay R Gnanamuthu, Demonte Colony 2 opened in cinemas on August 15 alongside other Tamil releases, including Thangalaan, starring Chiyaan Vikram. While many films struggled to compete with Thangalaan at the box office, Demonte Colony 2 stood out. Although it secured fewer screens compared to Thangalaan, it greatly benefited from positive reviews and strong word of mouth.

Thangalaan received mixed reviews, which worked in favour of Demonte Colony 2, a film with strong recall value among Tamil audiences. Following its opening weekend, the movie's box office performance was on par with Thangalaan, giving director Ajay Gnanamuthu a much-needed confidence boost.

Demonte Colony 2 is a sequel to Ajay's debut movie, which was released in 2015. According to reports, the film has earned more than ₹50 crore in global ticket sales, making it one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema this year.
